Our story
Before founding bidorbuy back in 1999, Andy Higgins earned his ecommerce stripes with auction sites in Europe. He then returned to South Africa to help kickstart the online shopping revolution here.

As more and more South Africans got connected, bidorbuy began to really take off. At the same time, price comparison engine Jump was growing just as fast. Jump Shopping was founded in 2004 by Jaco Roux. Powered by the same passion for ecommerce, it was only natural that Jaco Roux and Andy Higgins would join forces.

When they did, in 2012, it led to the founding of fulfilment
specialist uAfrica – the ideal partner for bidorbuy. The synergies were compelling, and the merger of these two South African originals took place.

In 2022, Bob Group was formed from uAfrica (now Bob Go) and bidorbuy (now Bob Shop), with other services such as Bob Box, Bob Pay and Ship Logic being added to create a holistic ecommerce solutions ecosystem for all South African buyers and sellers. Everything ecommerce, for everyone.
